Letter from the Chairman

Thanks for visiting our website and taking the time to read this message. I hope you have a sense we are not the average appraisal firm. The differing elements are our constant commitment to quality and the dedication and intellect of our staff. We also spend considerable time and money keeping current technologically and there is no more sophisticated appraisal office in town.

You should also know that our appraisal reports are constantly under review to verify their conformance with USPAP and appraisal society standards. Our reports are readable, consistent and easy to use. We believe a well-written report is as important as the right value and a lot of time is spent on both. Before any report is sent out, it’s reviewed by someone other than the originating appraiser. I personally review most of the reports issued by our company. In my absence, one of our officers fills in. In fact, we often involve more than one reviewer in order to solve a particularly difficult assignment or issue.

When we assign a value, we mean it! Everyone wants to know the truth about value but to some, it is absolutely essential. If you’re going to court, arbitration or dealing with an opposing party, you can’t afford to be wrong. You need to know the position you rely on is right and defensible. That is our specialty and one that clients expect from us.

As you would expect, BTI has appraisers with all of the major professional designations including State Certified Real Estate Appraisers, Business Appraisers and Equipment Appraisers. Because our staff are all full time employees, they can devote the time needed to be correct. There is no quick fix to assignments.

Our clients know we never say we don’t have the time. Regardless of the location, scope or quantity of appraisals, clients expect us to be there when they need us. We meet these expectations because of the size of our company, the quality of our office staff, our research capabilities and the solid commitment of our appraisers.

Is that all?, you might be saying! Well, no, I could go on some more, but I think you get the point. We’re in business to appraise correctly, meet your expectations for quality and delivery and to support you after the report leaves our office. Thanks for your time and I’ll look forward to hearing from you.

Most sincerely yours,

Ben F.Tunnell III
Chairman
